In honor of Women’s History Month, a celebration devoted to the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women, I’m sharing the best ways to give your ladies of LinkedIn™ a little extra love.
Why LinkedIn™? Because it’s the hotspot for professional opportunities that women everywhere can access!
I know firsthand how transformational leveraging LinkedIn™ can be. At the start of Covid, it felt like everyone around me was losing their job. As a single parent, I didn’t know what I would do if that were to happen to me. Needless to say, this was a scary thought to have and powerless place to be. I was determined to find a solution. With no pre-existing website, social media presence, or prospects, I turned to LinkedIn™ to begin establishing my personal brand and business.
With hardwork and consistency, things took off…and fast! I started using my experience in marketing management, social media, and strategy to help others become more visible on LinkedIn™ too. Since 2020, my LinkedIn™ presence alone has allowed me to go from employee to solopreneur to agency owner and get featured in major media outlets like Good Morning America, LA Weekly, and most recently The Wall Street Journal.
And here’s what I learned – no one succeeds alone and absolutely everyone can take advantage of LinkedIn™’s powers!
Starting from the bottom to now accruing an audience of over 178k+, I know how important small engagements are for big successes. I’m passionate about paying this success forward by helping other women live out their dreams too.

Visibility is the Vibe: React and Engage to Posts
LinkedIn™ knows how to do this right! I totally understand that life gets busy and we don’t always have hours to spend online. But the simple act of just ‘liking’ a post goes a long way on LinkedIn™. What’s unique about this platform in comparison to others is that anytime you engage, whether that be a reaction or comment, that post will automatically be shown to your entire network. This means impressions!
The next time you see a post come across your feed, take two seconds to give it a thumbs up, five seconds if you want to go the extra mile with a heart, and ten seconds tops if you feel inspired to comment something supportive. Any or all of these options assist in getting more eyes on the author’s content and hey, you never know who’s watching! I loved Heather Monahan‘s post the other day of us together at the LMN (Landscape Management Network) Summit last week!
Recommend Your Favorite Female-Founded Businesses
In a rate and review world, leaving a recommendation on your favorite female-founded business profile helps to establish their reputation and credibility. A positive review can make a huge difference for businesses when it comes to building trust with prospective clients and generating more revenue. To show some additional fan love, directly share the business’ LinkedIn™ page through a DM to someone you think could utilize their services with a small description of your personal experience. Send a LinkedIn™ Love Letter
Let’s be real, on a platform as expansive as LinkedIn™ it can get a touch overwhelming to scroll through endless posts of achievements and accolades. This can trigger thoughts of self-doubt and imposter syndrome that lay dormant in women (in fact, recent reports showed that more than half of women admitted to experiencing imposter syndrome…especially high-achievers).
This tells me we’re all in this together. So let’s normalize human touch connections that focus on encouragement and empowerment, versus just transactions. Don’t be shy about sending a message to a woman you’re inspired by. Let her know what an amazing job she’s doing, what content you’re loving, an article you think she’d enjoy, or simply just a “hey, how are you?”
